Course Description

This class will focus on the fundamentals of BBQ cooking using a smoker, oven and grill. Students will also learn how to prepare complementing side items. 

Learner Outcomes

Students will learn how to 

  • Identify classic meat cuts.
  • Prepare sauces.
  • Basic Knife skills.
  • How to prepare dry rubs.
  • How to prepare vegan and vegetarian alternatives.
  • How to properly smoke meats.
  • How to Prepare sides to accompany BBQ.

Notes

Students are required to attend 80% of scheduled classes in order to earn credit for the program.  Enrolled students are also expected to participate in class discussions, role play, case study activities and other learning opportunities.

Students will need head covering, apron, and non-slip shoes.
