Course Description

OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification is targeted for your organization’s leadership (team leaders through plant management) with responsibility for personnel safety, safe operations, and OSHA standards compliance. The OSHA Outreach instructor will cover the mandatory and elective hazard awareness topics and how to reference the OSHA General Industry Standards resources.  In an interactive class setting, the instructor will facilitate discussion to help you better manage and lead your organization’s safety strategies and action plans toward bottom line results. Instruction emphasizes hazard identification, control and prevention, and avoidance. In addition to mandatory topics electives may include hazardous materials, confined spaces, lockout/tagout, bloodborne pathogens, machine guarding, fall protection, ergonomics, safety and health programs, industrial hygiene, and more. 

Learner Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will:

  • Understand the rights and responsibilities of employers and employees under the OSH Act.
  • Understand the major hazards associated with general industry work and how to avoid, protect or control them.
