Course Description

Whether learning the foundations or taking your career to the next level, a Google IT Certificate opens doors to in-demand jobs. IT Support involves troubleshooting and problem solving to help computers and networks run smoothly, while providing great customer service along the way. This hands-on, practical course provides the skills needed for an introductory level job in IT support, with no relevant experience required. Main topics include troubleshooting and customer care, networking, operating systems, system administration, and security. Upon successful completion, students will earn the Google IT Support Technician certificate. This course is one of six short-courses in the Google IT programming suite.

Learner Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will:

  • Understand core concepts to all IT Support jobs, including troubleshooting, customer service, networking, system administration, operating systems, and security.
  • Know how to assemble a computer, write effective support documentation, route paths and subnets, manage device software, and more.
  • Dive into working with Linux, Cloud Computing, and Command-Line Interfaces.

Notes

Students will need a computer with internet access, streaming video capabilities and Coursera.
