Course Description

This class will cover holistic education, whole foods, culinary techniques, fundamentals of nutrition, and the connection between food, health and sustainability.  This class will cover basic culinary knife skills while using local ingredients.

Learner Outcomes

In this course, students will learn:

  • How to cook with local ingredients.
  • Holistic education as it relates to food.
  • Basic culinary techniques.
  • Fundamentals of nutrition.

Notes

Uniform (chef coat, checkered chef pants, slip resistant black closed toe shoes, chef hat), knife kit and textbooks are required for the in person class. Previous or concurrent Servsafe is recommended.
