Course Description

This Medical Billing and Coding course will prepare students for a career as a Medical Billing and Coding Specialist. This course will cover a variety of topics about legal, ethical, and regulatory concepts central to this field, including HIPAA compliance, official coding guidelines, and third-party payer requirements. This course includes a voucher for the professional medical billing and coding certification exam that best aligns with their interests and career goals:

  1. Certified Professional Coder (CPC) - American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC)
  2. Certified Coding Associate - American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA)
  3. Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS) - National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
