Course Description

This course prepares students for practice as an entry-level professional massage therapist. Successful completion of Therapeutic Massage I is required to take this course. Coursework includes; kinesiology, communication skills, pain relief and stress management massage techniques through coursework, hands-on lab experience, and public massage clinics. Upon successful completion of Massage Therapy Parts I & II students are eligible for the NC State Board of Massage Therapy licensing exam. (Mblex).

Learner Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:

  • Administer a professional massage in a clinical environment.
  • Gain knowledge and understanding of the human body, anatomy and physiology.

Notes

A textbook along with supplies and a uniform is required.  A list of specific supplies will be provided during the first class. 

Prerequisites

A high school diploma or equivalency is required. 

To enroll in this course, students must have successfully completed Therapeutic Massage I, MTH-3021M2.  Students must complete both  Therapeutic Massage I and II successfully to be eligible to sit for the State Mblex exam.
