Course Description

This course prepares students for practice as an entry-level professional massage therapist through coursework and hands-on lab practice. Coursework includes: human anatomy & physiology, client evaluation, and massage techniques. Massage Therapy Part II is required to complete this program of study. Students must complete both Massage Therapy I and II successfully to be eligible to sit for the State Mblex exam.

Learner Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, student will be able to:

  • Administer a professional massage in a clinical environment.
  • Gain knowledge and understanding of the human body, its anatomy, and physiology.

Notes

A textbook along with supplies and uniform is required.  A list of specific supplies will be provided during the first class. 

Therapeutic Massage I must be completed before you are eligible to take Therapeutic Massage II.

Upon completion of both courses students will be eligible to sit for the State Mblex exam.   

Prerequisites

A high school diploma or equivalency is required.
