Course Description

This class is the final phase of the Cosmetology in Spanish program in which students will reach all program requirements and be able to demonstrate all Cosmetology concepts taught. Successful graduates of the Cosmetology Program will be eligible to apply and sit for the NC State Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners written and practical licensure exams for Cosmetology. Perspective students must attend an orientation session, provide identification of verification and take a CASAS reading assessment. Textbooks, uniform and cosmetology kit required.

Learner Outcomes

Upon completion students will be able to: 

  • Discuss chemistry and hair structure.
  • Explain advanced cutting and design procedures.
  • Recall cosmetology concepts in preparation for the licensing examination.
  • Demonstrate and understanding of cosmetology concepts and meet program completion requirements.
  • Demonstrate efficient and competent delivery of all salon services.
  • Demonstrate competence in program requirements and the areas covered on the Cosmetology Licensing Examination.
  • Meet entry-level employment requirements.

Notes

  • Students will participate in an online blended asynchronous portion of the course.
  • Students will be required to be in uniform and prepared for class each day with textbooks and kit.
  • Verification of Identification is required.
  • Program Site- Harnett Main Campus.
  • This is part 5 of a 5 part series of courses to be eligible to be able to graduate from the Cosmetic Arts program

Prerequisites

To be eligible for this course, students must have successfully completed Cosmetology in Spanish I, II, III, and IV.
